Having practiced law in Northern California for more than 20 years, both as an equity partner in an AmLaw 50 firm and as in-house counsel with a Fortune 100 company, I am in a unique position to provide meaningful, relevant advice and market perspective to leading law firm partners here and nationally. Paul D. Allen is a Partner in our Palo Alto and San Francisco offices and a member of our Partner Practice Group. Since 2008, Paul has provided confidential advice and representation to dozens of law firm partners and groups in regard to optimal career opportunities and to premier law firms looking to grow or establish operations in the Bay Area. Paul grew up in Portola Valley and currently resides with his wife on the Peninsula. Their two grown children are out on their own but nearby. He enjoys cycling and is actively involved with the Tahirih Justice Center, which recently opened a Bay Area chapter.

Experience

Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Paul served as Executive Director and Division Risk Manager for Morgan Stanley's Global Wealth Management Group. He was a partner with Bingham McCutchen's Securities Practice in San Francisco, representing leading Wall Street financial institutions and senior management before the Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulatory agencies. Paul served as Executive Director with Morgan Stanley's Law Division after having been appointed First Vice President and Assistant General Counsel. Early in his career, he was a patent litigator with Brown & Bain in Silicon Valley.

Having worked in all of these capacities in law and business, Paul enjoys providing critical perspective and intelligence on the unique and dynamic trends and opportunities here in the Bay Area.
