Major, Lindsey & Africa Places Karen Litsinger as NorthStar Anesthesia’s Chief Legal Officer

Hanover, MD (April 11, 2019) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Karen Litsinger as chief legal officer at NorthStar Anesthesia in Washington, D.C. The search was led by Deb Ben-Canaan, partner in MLA’s In-House Practice Group in Washington, D.C., and Amber Shockey, managing director in MLA’s In-House Practice Group in Dallas, Texas.

In her new role, Litsinger will manage the company’s legal function and oversee all aspects of corporate governance including entity management, M&A, risk management, employment, and litigation. Founded by an anesthesiologist and a certified registered nurse anesthetist over a decade ago, NorthStar Anesthesia is one of the largest anesthesia management companies in the United States.

Litsinger joins NorthStar Anesthesia after a decade with Mirixa Corporation where she most recently served as senior vice president of operations and general counsel, leading the compliance, human resources and corporate development teams. She has also held the of role of interim CEO. Prior to joining Mirix Corporation, Litsinger served as a partner at Sonnenschein Nath and Rosenthal (now Dentons) and a vice president at America Online. She began her career as an associate at Arent, Fox, Kintner, Plotkin & Kahn.
