MLA Places Nina Fletcher as General Counsel at YipitData

Hanover, MD (June 10, 2021) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Nina Fletcher as general counsel at YipitData in New York City. The search was conducted by Sheri Michaels, partner in New York, and Joanna Herman, managing director in San Diego, both with MLA’s In-House Counsel Recruiting group.

Reporting directly to the CEO and president, Vinicius Vacanti, Nina will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters related to the company’s legal, regulatory, risk and compliance functions in support of YipitData’s strategic initiatives. She will support, advise and provide sound legal counsel to the executive team leaders, the board of directors and all operations teams and be responsible for leading, mentoring and growing the existing legal team.

Nina comes to YipitData with 10 years of asset management and private equity experience. She most recently served as senior counsel and chief governance officer with Bridgewater Associates, an asset management firm, advising a global-macro hedge fund on all aspects of strategic capital transactions, existing funds and new products, technology transactions and corporate governance matters. Prior to joining Bridgewater Associates, she practiced law at Sullivan & Cromwell and Covington & Burling. Nina earned her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, her LL.M. from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and her B.A. from Yale University.
