MLA Places Christine Castellano as EVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at The Andersons, Inc.

Hanover, MD (February 3, 2020) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Christine Castellano as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at The Andersons, Inc. in Maumee, Ohio. The search was led by Mindy Crandus Sircus, managing director with MLA’s In-House Counsel Practice in Chicago.

Christine will have full responsibility and accountability for the legal, compliance and regulatory matters of the company, including the entire spectrum of corporate and securities matters facing a publicly-traded company, corporate secretarial reporting and litigation matters. She will also advise the board on legal and business items and will be a member of the Company’s executive team. The Andersons, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANDE), founded in 1947, is a diversified company rooted in agriculture that conducts business across North America in the commodity trading, ethanol, plant nutrient and rail sectors.

Christine has more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing, food ingredients and the agribusiness space. Most recently, she served as senior vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary and chief compliance office for Ingredion Incorporated. She was legal advisor to executive leadership, corporate committees and the board, managing a global legal team; directing global litigation, claims and matters; and leading the legal team in M&A in the U.S. and internationally. Christine started her career as a litigator with McDermott, Will & Emery in Chicago, where she was later elected an income partner.

Christine earned her J.D. from University of Michigan Law School and her B.A. from University of Colorado Boulder.
