London, UK (March 14, 2022) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search and advisory firm, today announced that Angus Dodwell has joined as a Managing Director in the In-House Counsel group, based in the firm’s London office.
A qualified solicitor, Angus has over 20 years’ experience gained in both private practice and in-house roles, including as general counsel and company secretary with Accsys Technologies PLC, a cross-listed London Stock Exchange and Euronext Amsterdam business. A member of the executive committee and director of two JV companies, he led all legal, governance and regulatory affairs across the Accsys Group for over 10 years.
He has also subsequently acted as a consultant general counsel to a portfolio of SME clients. Angus began his legal career in roles with Ashurst LLP and Forsters LLP.
Commenting on his new role, Angus said “I was attracted to MLA not only due to its leading position in London and on the global search and advisory market, but also owing to its professional and progressive outlook, belief in investing in long-term relationships and, most importantly, the calibre of people that work with MLA. I am looking forward to connecting high-quality lawyers with corporate clients, adding value, mitigating risk and acting as a sounding board”.
Brent Harris, Vice President, EMEA and APAC, added, “As a skilled general counsel with a wealth of experience in navigating the legal challenges of small to mid-cap market listed corporations, Angus is a wonderful addition to our London team. His work as a trusted advisor to boards and executive teams will be invaluable as he utilises these skills on the other side of the table.”
Angus graduated with a BSc in Politics from Bristol University before passing the Common Professional Examination and Legal Practice Course from The College of Law.
