MLA Announces the Appointment of Saroj Panigrahi as SVP & General Counsel at Flipkart

Hanover, MD (February 3, 2021) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, announced the appointment of Saroj Pahigrahi to the legal organization of Walmart as SVP & General Counsel for Flipkart.  The search was conducted by Naveen Tuli, managing partner EMEA & APAC in Delhi, Pooja Mahbubani, director in Hong Kong and PJ Harari, partner in Los Angeles - all with MLA’s In-House Counsel group.

Saroj has worked across a broad range of industries with substantial experience at the senior leadership level spanning the US, EMEA and APAC regions.  Based out of Mumbai, Saroj was the Chief Legal Officer & Member of the Operating Committee with JP Morgan Chase, India Corporate Center, having oversight of legal advisory, transactions, corporate governance and strategic legal support to the four Lines of Business. Previously, he was the general counsel and a member of the board of directors with Vodafone’s Indian Holding and Services Companies where he led several major transactions and the successful outcome of a high-profile litigation.

His experience includes an association with a law firm and a global role with Novartis, functionally leading a diverse and multi-cultural team across continents. Earlier in his career, he held a number of legal and compliance leadership roles with Reliance Nippon Life Insurance, Accenture and ING Group’s greenfield venture in India.
