MLA Places Michael R. Costa as General Counsel at Center for Autism and Related Disorders

Hanover, MD (September 19, 2019) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Michael R. Costa as general counsel at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) in Woodland Hills, California. The search was conducted by PJ Harari and Heather Fine, both partners in MLA’s In-House Counsel Practice Group in Southern California and Chicago, respectively.

In his new role as general counsel, Michael will provide senior management with effective legal advice and commercial input on company strategy and its implementation. He will also manage the legal function and the internal legal team as well as oversee the work of outside counsel and relationships with other outside constituencies such as regulators and relevant industry groups. He will partner closely with the leadership team providing advice and guidance on legal and business matters.

Prior to joining Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Michael served as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for American Renal Associates, one of the major dialysis services providers in the United States. He was held responsible for publically-traded health care company’s legal, transactional and regulatory affairs, including corporate governance, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, labor, contracts, corporate and capital transactions, SEC compliance, and litigation issues. Michael also practiced law at Greenberg & Traurig LLP, Behar & Kalman, and Gargiulo, Rudnick & Gargiulo.
