Carol Morganstern is a Partner in our Partner Practice Group, working in both our San Francisco and Palo Alto offices. Since joining the firm in 2012, Carol has placed partners, counsels, high-level government attorneys and groups at over 20 different firms in the Bay Area, including helping launch numerous new offices. Carol believes each representation is unique and each candidate should receive bespoke advice with suggestions tailored to their unique practice and criteria. Through years of work exclusively in Northern California, she has developed a strong understanding of this unique law firm market and utilizes this to not only guide candidates to their right destination but also to bring in the right talent for the firm—someone who has the right practice mix and fits within the firm culture.

In addition to working with law firm partners and groups, Carol works closely with high-level candidates moving out of government agencies, including the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Securities Exchange Commission and the Federal Trade Commission, successfully placing these candidates into law firms in the Bay Area.

After over a decade in San Francisco, Carol moved to Mill Valley, giving her son the classic San Francisco gift for his fifth birthday—a house in Marin. Outside of work, Carol enjoys cooking, entertaining and spending time with family and friends including her dog Ginger. Carol’s husband is an accomplished banjo player, but she loves him anyway.

Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Carol was an employment attorney with a number of Bay Area law firms, including Jackson Lewis LLP.
