Dave Maurer is an Executive Director in our Partner Practice Group providing oversight, strategic support and guidance to new recruiters and practice specialists. He works closely with new recruiters to shepherd them through the recruiting process and develop them into outstanding career advisors. He combines his passion for helping others and innate teaching abilities to help new recruiters achieve their career goals and to build high-performing teams across all of our offices.
Fascinated and amused by technology, he also lends his efforts to helping individuals within the company leverage new technologies being adopted by the organization.
Dave lives in the San Francisco East Bay city of Walnut Creek. He enjoys spending time watching his kids play water polo, making pizzas, baking bread, making ice cream and walking Hazel, his beagle, in the East Bay hills.
Dave joined Major, Lindsey & Africa in 2010 as a legal recruiter in our Partner Practice Group, where he consulted with prominent law firm partners about ways to navigate their careers. Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, he was an in-house attorney at a Fortune 50 brokerage firm and investment bank. Before attending law school, Dave worked in the investment, retirement and trust departments of a Fortune 50 national bank.
Dave earned his law degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, graduating magna cum laude. In addition to Law Review, he was also a member of the Willem C. Vis Moot Arbitration team, which travelled to Vienna, Austria, to compete in international competition. Dave earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley – Go Bears! – where he studied Political Science.
