As a Director on our In-House Counsel Recruiting team in our New York office, Eskor Edem focuses on helping organizations find talented lawyers and compliance professionals across all industries to strengthen their legal and compliance teams.
Eskor resides in Newark, New Jersey, with his wife. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching basketball, MMA and boxing in his free time.
Eskor joined Major, Lindsey & Africa after a year with a boutique executive search firm based in New Jersey, Blackacre Attorney Search. There, he specialized in identifying and recruiting high-caliber legal talent on behalf of leading law firms and Fortune 500 companies. He regularly provided talent acquisition strategies to C-suite executives, managing partners, hiring partners and practice group leaders.
Prior to joining Blackacre, Eskor worked as a senior consultant with a global search and selection firm, Pure Search. During his tenure with this firm, he helped establish the organization’s domestic private practice search function. Eskor previously worked as an executive recruiter at Robert Walters PLC. Over the course of his career, he has made placements at all levels of seniority in AmLaw 200, NLJ 500 and mid-sized law firms. In the corporate legal department setting, he has successfully closed search engagements at various levels of seniority on behalf of domestic and international companies.
Eskor previously worked as a member of the legal department of a multibillion-dollar family office affiliated with a publicly traded real estate company. During his time with the family office, he regularly liaised with the general counsel of the public company, the general counsel of the family office, as well as regional, national and international law firms who served as outside counsel. While interacting with outside counsel, he routinely interfaced with both associates and partners across several practice groups. In helping to execute and drive the organization’s objectives forward, he provided legal counsel on a wide array of matters, including but not limited to SEC regulatory matters, private direct investment, tax matters and real estate development. His experience with the family office gives him unique insight into the workings of sophisticated corporate legal departments and their law firm counterparts.
