John A. Cashman is President of Major, Lindsey & Africa and Allegis Partners. He oversees the legal talent management business globally, encompassing in-house law department, law firm associate, law firm partner and law firm management recruiting as well as legal staffing. He also leads our executive search firm, guiding the overall growth and strategy for the organization. John was named to Lawdragon's "100 Leading Legal Consultants and Strategists" in 2017.
John lives in the Chicago suburb of Clarendon Hills with his wife, Christi, who is a real estate partner at a major Chicago law firm, and their children. In his spare time, John reads, plays golf and practices yoga.
John previously served as Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Vice President for Law Firm Recruiting, where he was responsible for all aspects of strategy and implementation regarding recruiting partners, associates and professionals on behalf of law firms. When he was a legal search consultant, John focused his practice on representing individual partners in the lateral marketplace, practice group acquisitions and law firm mergers.
Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, John was a corporate partner in the Chicago office of Winston & Strawn. Before attending law school, John was a vice president at City National Bank in Beverly Hills, Calif.
