MLA Places Monica Johnson as General Counsel at Darigold

Hanover, MD (October 22, 2019) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Monica Johnson as general counsel at Darigold in Seattle, WA. The search was led by Alisa Tazioli, managing director, with MLA’s In-House Counsel Practice in Seattle.

Headquartered in Seattle, Darigold, Inc. is the marketing and processing subsidiary of the Northwest Dairy Association (NDA). Owned by more than 430 dairy farm families in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana, Darigold produces a full line of dairy-based products for retail, foodservice, commodity and specialty markets. It is one of the largest U.S. dairy processors, operating 11 plants throughout the Northwest.

As general counsel, Monica will have direct responsibility for all legal matters affecting Darigold and the NDA. She will support Darigold’s leadership and the NDA Board, providing strategic support of its business goals and hands-on direction and guidance on all legal matters for the growing global enterprise.

Before joining Darigold, Monica served as general counsel for Bonduelle Americas, a manufacturer of fresh produce and protein products across Canada and the United States. Previously, she served as assistant general counsel and assistant corporate secretary at Ventura Foods, LLC; senior counsel for Western Digital Technologies, Inc.; and corporate counsel for Deutsche Bahn/DB Logistics/Bax Global.

Monica earned her J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles and her B.A. from the University of California, Davis.
