MLA Places Neal Dahiya as Senior Vice President, Litigation at Moderna

Hanover, MD (January 6, 2021) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Neal Dahiya as senior vice president, litigation at Moderna, Inc., in Cambridge, MA. The search was conducted by Nancy Reiner, partner, and Amy Katz, managing director, in MLA’s In-House Counsel Recruiting group in Boston.

Reporting to General Counsel Lori Henderson, Neal will serve as a key member of the Moderna legal leadership team. As senior vice president, litigation, he will direct the company’s global litigation strategy; effectively and efficiently manage and resolve its litigation matters (including IP litigation); and coordinate with finance, corporate communications and investor relations to ensure appropriate and timely disclosures.

Moderna, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRNA) is advancing messenger RNA (mRNA) science to create a new class of transformative medicines for patients. mRNA medicines are designed to direct the body’s cells to produce intracellular, membrane or secreted proteins that can have a therapeutic or preventive benefit and have the potential to address a broad spectrum of diseases. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) has recently authorized the emergency use of mRNA-1273, Moderna’s vaccine against COVID-19 in individuals 18 years of age or older.

Neal joins Moderna after eight years with Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he most recently served as executive director and assistant general counsel, managing global patent litigations and the IP group's business development and commercial patent strategies. Prior to joining Bristol-Myers Squibb, he practiced law at Sidley Austin LLP and Ropes & Gray, LLP. Neal earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law and his B.S. in Biology from Duke University.
