MLA Welcomes Former Meta Platform’s Director & Associate General Counsel Jeannine Lemker to Its Seattle In-House Counsel Recruiting Team

Hanover, MD (January 12, 2023) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, welcomes Jeannine Lemker, director, to its In-House Counsel Recruiting team in Seattle. Jeannine will work with a broad range of organizations to advise and assist them in finding talented lawyers, compliance and ethics professionals, privacy leaders and other high-level, specialized legal professionals.

“We are excited to have Jeannine as a member of our team in Seattle,” said Chad Marlow, executive director for In-House Counsel Recruiting. “Jeannine brings two decades of experience working at the senior levels of compliance and ethics. Her understanding of how to connect a company’s strategy and culture to highly talented, diverse leaders will be an asset to her clients as she helps them structure their legal and compliance teams.”

Jeannine joined MLA after 10-plus years as a senior member of Meta and Microsoft’s Ethics & Compliance teams (most recently as a Director and AGC at Meta), where she led teams to deliver ethical culture and compliance programs that enabled responsible decision-making, including award-winning training programs and novel digital and analytics strategies.  Prior to her in-house career, Jeannine spent 10 years at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft advising multinational, Fortune 500 companies on compliance programs; conducting internal investigations; and representing corporate officers and directors charged with criminal securities fraud and bribery. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Washington Law School and is a co-director of their Global Business Law Institute.

“As a part of both Microsoft and Meta's compliance and ethics teams, I saw legal, compliance and privacy thought-leaders and business strategy partners change the trajectory of a company, protect and advance the business, and influence policy and regulation every day,” Jeannine said. “In my role at MLA, I am able to combine this on-the-ground experience with my passion for shepherding companies through new legal and compliance leadership and sparking the next generation of legal and compliance leaders.”

Jeannine earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.A. from The George Washington University.
