What attracted you to Major, Lindsey & Africa?
MLA is the most recognized name in legal in-house recruiting. I knew if I became a legal recruiter, I would only want to work for the best firm!
What is the best part of your job?
I love being able to connect with so many different people, helping our clients find amazing lawyers and assisting candidates in finding their dream job.
What is the most surprising part of being a recruiter?
The hours are surprisingly long. We have a greater level of flexibility with our schedules, but I work long hours just like I did while practicing at large law firms.

Describe one of your successes thus far at Major, Lindsey & Africa.
I recently closed a search that was open for over half a year (and before I started at MLA). I spent a considerable amount of time sourcing and reaching out to candidates (I screened over 20). I finally found the perfect candidate. Although some of her skills were not directly what the client wanted, I was able to explain the value of the candidate to the client. It was a great search on which to start my career since I learned so much about the full search process.
What advice would you give to someone considering becoming a recruiter?
Do your research on search firms. You want to go to a firm that has a strong reputation, that provides financial and structural support to build your skills and client base, and has a lot of work to keep you busy.
If you weren’t a lawyer or a recruiter, what career would you have had?
I would either be a News Anchor/ TV Host or a Real Estate Broker.
