Larry Scott is a Managing Director in our Partner Practice Group. He counsels law firm partners and groups to navigate the lateral market, identifying firms which provide the best platform and fit based on their individual goals. Larry's experience practicing at national law firms combined with his extensive recruiting experience gives him a keen understanding of the importance of the match between the firm and attorney. He is seen as a true partner and trusted advisor by both clients and candidates.

A long-time Texas resident, Larry has embraced all that Texas has to offer, particularly its vibrant music community. In his spare time, he plays guitar, participates in blues jams, enjoys road trips and explores plant-based restaurants around the world.

Larry began his recruiting career in 2005. Since then, he has successfully placed partners, partner groups and associates at top-tier international, national, regional and boutique law firms. He has received innumerable honors and awards over the years for his excellence in recruiting and ability to serve as a trusted advisor to his clients and candidates.

Before moving into recruiting, Larry was a tax and international attorney with Jenkens & Gilchrist in Texas. In that role, he represented clients on U.S. and international tax and transactional issues. Prior to that, he worked for global accounting firms in the U.S., Hong Kong and Vietnam. In Vietnam, Larry assisted in the opening of a global accounting firm’s Hanoi office and founded the firm’s tax and legal section there.

Prior to his international adventures, Larry began his legal career as a healthcare attorney with Johnson & Gibbs and then Jenkens & Gilcrest.
