Pete Boerner is a Partner on our In-House Counsel Recruiting. He is based in our Houston office, where he served as Managing Partner from 2010–2018. With more than 20 years of executive recruiting experience, he understands that every client is unique and that there are unique challenges and nuances that are inherent in finding and placing top legal talent. Pete truly represents the best of both worlds to his clients and candidates—a seasoned executive recruiter who is well-networked and a former lawyer who also understands how a legal department supports all functions within organizations of all sizes and complexity.

Pete has a son and a daughter and is a former foster parent. He enjoys outdoor activities of all sorts and is an avid college football fan.

Throughout his earlier career at one of the world’s leading executive search firms, Pete provided advice and counsel to senior executives and companies and completed hundreds of assignments of varying levels of complexity and difficulty. He spent many years recruiting executives across multiple functions and industries throughout the U.S. and internationally. Since 2006, he has sharpened his focus, leveraging his collective executive recruiting expertise and legal experience to perform general counsel searches for both public and private companies.

While in law school, Pete clerked for the Houston City Council and several local law firms. Prior to that, he worked at Transamerica Fund Distributors, a mutual fund management and distribution company.
