Experienced Legal Recruiter, Larry Scott, Joins Major, Lindsey & Africa's Partner Practice Group in Texas

Hanover, MD (July 7, 2021) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world's leading legal search firm, today announced that Larry Scott has joined as a managing director in the Partner Practice Group.  Based in the firm's Houston office, Larry will also focus on the Dallas and Austin legal markets. Larry represents partners and partner groups in navigating the lateral market, identifying firms that provide the best platform and fit based on the partner’s individual goals.

Larry began his recruiting career in 2005. Since then, he has successfully placed partners, partner groups and associates at top-tier international, national, regional and boutique law firms. He has received innumerable honors and awards over the years for his excellence in recruiting and ability to serve as a trusted advisor to his clients and candidates.

Before moving into recruiting, Larry was a tax and international attorney with Jenkens & Gilchrist in Texas. In that role, he represented clients on U.S. and international tax and transactional issues. Prior to that, he worked for global accounting firms in the U.S., Hong Kong and Vietnam. In Vietnam, Larry assisted in the opening of a global accounting firm's Hanoi office and founded the firm's tax and legal section there. Larry was also Counsel at an international healthcare startup.

Larry began his legal career as a healthcare attorney with Johnson & Gibbs and then Jenkens & Gilcrest. He earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, his Master’s in Accounting from the University of Florida and his B.A. also from the University of Florida.
