Hanover, MD (July 22, 2021) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world's leading legal search firm, today announced that it has been retained by Little League International to recruit its next general counsel. Elizabeth Long, managing director, and Robert Mannino, director, both with MLA’s In-House Counsel Recruiting team, are leading the search.
Little League International’s (LLI) next general counsel will work collaboratively with senior management and the board, providing leadership and counsel on all legal matters relating to LLI’s operations, strategies and activities. The general counsel will plan and manage the activities of the legal department providing legal advice, preparing and reviewing legal documents, and delivering legal services and resources to accomplish organizational goals, strategies and priorities.
“We are honored and privileged to partner with Little League International on its search for its next general counsel. Given the role little league softball and baseball plays in the local community, it will be vital to identify an exceptional lawyer who has a passion for the sport and is committed to helping the organization with its mission,” said Beth Long. “A corporate generalist legal background, understanding of non-profit legal issues and experience with corporate partnerships/sponsorships, marketing, licensing, intellectual property matters, as well as commercial contracts, will be critical for success.”
Founded in 1939, LLI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and the world’s largest organized youth sports program with millions of players. Little League Baseball and Softball is played in approximately 6,500 communities across more than 80 countries around the world, but regardless of where they are played, each of them shares the same core missions. LLI believes in the power of youth baseball and softball to teach life lessons that build stronger individuals and communities. Joined together by one common goal, every local league is part of One Team, One Little League.
